I must say this was "Milking the cow too much" , the Darkest Power trilogy was easily one book worth plot

Greetings,I was hoping the year would start better reading wise, last year was the "Ok Year", so I wanted to end 2013, and start this one in a better mood.Witches/Magic was my option, and since I dedicated my Christmas haul mostly to fantasy and /magical books, I really was expecting this series and my experience with Kelley Armstrong to be awesome, since she's quite known within Supernatural fiction genre.This series, was my second read of hers, I read Bitten before, and although I find her writing style quite casual and very easy to read, this was quite disappointing. This is a highly rated series , especially for a young adult, so I was expecting a lot more than what I found. Don't get me wrong , this was for certainly a page turner, specially this last book, I read it in a matter of hours, but I kept drifting off of the history and imagining what this could have been.The romance didn't irritate me , nor appeal me, most of the time I actually didn't remember she was in fact that young , what was good , and overall I must say that the characters were well drawn and her abilities and the way they were described very well done and that's why this is so frustrating , it's because the setting was strong enough to be interesting and then it failed to be delivered.The narration drags, so many running away, escapes and anxiety, it feels that there is just to much building-up/action to a very weak climax. In the end we are left with too many questions to be answered and it feels tiresome.I must say this was "Milking the cow too much" , the Darkest Power trilogy was easily one book worth plot, probably good for preparing this younger version of the "Otherworld series", bringing it up to three left me with high expectations that things would get better with time, and the problem was that they didn't, they end up just the same way they started, just ok, which made this reading experience kind of pointless.PS: Why a readhead on the covers? The Reckoning is the third book in the series and is brilliant. In fact all three books are throughly enjoyable. There is action, suspense and of course a romance - a love triangle between the three main characters. In my opinion it's really good for ages 12 and above, it's easy reading but there are some scary parts in the novel that some young adults might find disturbing. The Darkest Powers series is suppose to be a trilogy but it leaves a number of unanswered questions, however I believe there is going to be another novel released in the series, which is great. The Reckoning doesn't finish on a cliffhanger and has a really lovely ending however you are definately left wondering about the loose ends. As far as the story goes, if you like magic and werewolves with young adult romance you will love these books. In my opinion if you enjoyed Twilight, City of Bones series, Secret Circle, Dark Visions, Evernight series, Hush Hush etc you will definately like these! Brilliant ******

I loved every bit of all three books it was right up my street. I don't normally like reading actually I never read but this series of books were brilliant its got me into reading. That's why I gave it five stars
