The earlier books are so much better

I looked forward to this book. I loved the earlier Jack Reacher novels, but this one is disappointing. Hardly any story line and utterly predictable. I'm so sorry that Mr Lee Child has lost his creative spark. Maybe it would be better for him to take a break, without worrying about his Jack Reacher novels. His inspiration might return or maybe not, but producing poor quality books is not the way ahead.

I liked this one but...

...sometimes I find Lee Child's stories too far-fetched but this one isn't as much as some of his others. It is time now for Reacher to have a brush with the real world and be touched by some form of emotional drama that changes him or his world slightly. Otherwise all the stories seem to have the same pattern and predictable outcomes.

Not one of his best but very readable. The usual intrigue is there but I don’t know if I’d have enjoyed this book if I didn’t already know Jack Reacher.I wanted more action, thrills, edge-of-my-seat stuff. I don’t need total realism. I get that in the newspaper. But the baddy was not realistic enough.Don’t make this your first Reacher book. Enjoy an earlier one so that you won’t be put off these great stories.
